Janelle Monae, Robin Thicke, K. Michelle, Tyga and Jidenna are the latest additions to the performer lineup at the 2015 BET Awards. Also announced today as presenters are Grammy winner Kelly Rowland and Washington Redskins wide receiver DeSean Jackson.
Celebrating its 15th anniversary, the BET Awards will air live on June 28 from Los Angeles’ Microsoft Theater.
As announced yesterday (June 23), Janet Jackson will receive BET’s inaugural Ultimate Icon: Music Dance Visual Award. Ciara, Jason Derulo and Tinashe will perform a special dance tribute in honor of the singer.
The evening’s previously announced performers include Chris Brown, Kendrick Lamar, Nicki Minaj, Ne-Yo, Big Sean and Meek Mill. Rounding out the roster of presenters are actors Michael Ealy, Sanaa Lathan, Laverne Cox, Michael B. Jordan and actress/singer Zendaya.
Brown and Minaj lead this year’s tally of nominees, tied at six nominations each. Beyoncé and Lil Wayne follow with four nods apiece. Hosted by Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross, the 2015 BET Awards will cap the BET Experience at L.A. Live music and lifestyle festival, presented by Coca-Cola (June 25-28).
