Comprised of Dan Ghenacia, Dyed Soundorom and Shonky, each a respected solo artist in their own right, the French super-trio Apollonia made its name on relentless groovy deep house productions and marathon back-to-back-back DJ sets in hallowed underground halls like Circoloco Ibiza and Berghain’s Panorama Bar.
Exclusive: Skrillex’s Rising Star Etnik Premieres ‘Take a Shot’
The release of their debut artist album Tour à Tour finds the trio producing at the peak of their powers, combining dreamy distant synths and percussive grooves in minimal, yet memorable, arrangements that impart both the delirious peaks and deep valleys inherent to the after-hours experience. On “El Señor Vador,” a languid voice queries the listener atop seesawing synthesizers while an upbeat tropical groove threatens to usher in sunrise at any moment.

Apollonia, whose name translates to “alternately” in French, describe the album as representing “the idea of a continuous motion of music between us; a never-ending circle that flows and becomes hypnotic. Our album represents the way we approach our DJ performance — there is a unity between us and we work like one artist. The music we play holds no boundaries of time, respecting music old and new.”
Apollonia’s Tour à Tour LP is now available digitally on iTunes and elsewhere.
