A former Fox Cable employee has been implicated in an online piracy ring run from studio compuers.
Last month, the U.S. Secret Service searched the Los Angeles home of former Fox Cable employee Lisa Yamamoto and confiscated material on her home computer server, which was linked to Fox’s system. According to the Secret Service’s affidavit, illegal copies of 14 films from various studios — including “Daddy Day Care,” “Daredevil,” “The Matrix Reloaded,” “Old School” and “X-Men 2” — were stored on the Fox server and were accessed by members of the “Warez” piracy ring through their home computers.
Yamamoto is believed to be a key member of Warez, although she has yet to be charged.
