Music social networking site Eventful has surpassed 10 million users, according to the company, which also notes that more than 75,000 artists have used the Web site’s Demand It! service to determine where to perform based on fan voting.
Eventful.com is a Web site that allows music fans to request specific acts to perform in their city. Last October, Ticketmaster Entertainment became the official ticketing provider for Eventful.
As previously reported, Kiss’ upcoming U.S. and Canadian tour will be entirely routed based on demand at Eventful, a first for a major act. Fans will “demand” where Kiss will perform on their tour across the top-voted North American markets beginning this September. And in order to keep the competition fair for smaller cities, final site selection will weigh population size versus total votes.
Other acts who’ve utilized Eventful’s Demand It! service include Madonna, Keith Urban, Paramore and Rascal Flatts, according to the company.
