Kicking off New York Fashion Week last night (Feb. 9), The Heart Truth’s Red Dress Collection featured a notable handful of musicians on the red carpet and runway, including Eve, Patti LaBelle and Natasha Bedingfield, who all walked in the event.

Before the red carpet, Eve casually chatted with reporters backstage, wearing sunglasses and a light tank top, seemingly forgetting the 20 degree weather outside the tents.
Patti LaBelle, when asked what her favorite love song is in celebration of Valentine’s Day, excitedly responded, “Aretha! ‘Oh Me Oh My’ by Aretha Franklin!” Natasha Bedingfeld, when asked the same question jokingly exclaimed “my song!” and continued backstage.

Throughout the show, celebrities walked to a slew of pop hits, such as Far*East Movement’s “Rocketeer,” Florence and the Machine‘s “Dog Days Are Over,” Robyn‘s “Indestructable” and Rihanna‘s “Only Girl (In the World).”
Natasha Bedingfield re-emerged to the runway after her fist-pumping walk to perform her latest single, “Strip Me,” encouraging the audience to engage in hand-swaying. Even actor Matthew McConaughey uninspiredly waved his arms.

The show ended triumphantly, with a soundtrack of Katy Perry‘s “Firework” setting off a matching visual projection at the start of the runway, while the entire cast of the show walked the runway. Patti LaBelle, who by far had received the warmest reception during her animated walk, high-fived the other Red Dress ladies in an outfit resembling a choir robe.
