Her company now employs more than 1,500 at-risk women living in Ethiopia, India, Cambodia, Kenya and the United States and provides sustainable income, health care, education and a safe work environment for these women while selling chic fashion, accessories and home goods using recycled or repurposed materials.
McRae is one of the brand’s newest supporters and wore Dickerson’s silk snakeskin-print Caftan dress ($138), which was made by single mothers and widows employed through Raven + Lily’s artisans network in Malaysia, and the AOKO necklace ($91), made from recycled brass by female artisans in Kenya.
