In the midst of their 2015 North American tour — the largest K-pop tour in years — Epik High came to the Billboard studios to share their goofy attitudes and some of their experiences from their first trek American trek since 2009.
While fans responded to the tour dates with an extreme zeal, selling out a handful of performances, Tablo, Mithra Jin and DJ Tukutz also found a slew of celebrity fans coming out to the show, including the likes of Randy Jackson at their Los Angeles concert.
“Before the show, he came backstage and he was telling us how he really likes certain songs on our albums,” Tablo says. “The fact that he’s checking out K-pop at all was surprising, but that he’s been listening to Epik High — that’s pretty crazy. Maybe we should try out for American Idol one day?”
While they list Kanye West and Kendrick Lamar as dream artists to produce for one day, Tablo adds that his personal choice would be Yoko Ono — who he recently found out was following him on Twitter.
Find out why he’s hesitant to reach out to Yoko plus insight about their recent tour, what’s happening in 2015 and more in the exclusive video interview above.
