Seoul-based hip hop trio Epik High will head stateside in December to perform at this year’s Unforgettable Gala, a celebratory event and award show hybrid dedicated to highlighting the Asian American and Pacific Islander community in entertainment.
It is the first time Epik High, whose frontman Tablo graduated from Stanford University, will perform at the event. The appearance will mark their first stateside performance after the release of their We’ve Done Something Wonderful album, which came out in October and peaked at No. 2 on the World Albums chart.
This year’s Gala honors Maggie Q, Leonardo Nam, Awkwafina, Ross Butler, Daniel Dae Kim, Grace Park, and several other of the entertainment industry’s most groundbreaking Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. Jeannie Mai will host the event. Along with Epik High, the night will feature performances from the East West Players and Kinjaz.
The 2017 Unforgettable Gala, the 16th of its kind, takes place on Dec. 9 at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles and will be live streamed on Kore Asian Media’s Facebook page.
