Epik High released their new song “Eternal Sunshine” on Monday (March 11). Produced by Suga of BTS, the track is featured on the trio’s new EP, Sleepless In__________, which also debuted today.
“Eternal Sunshine” finds the alt hip-hop trio, made up of rappers Tablo, Mithra Jin and DJ Tukutz, dropping vulnerable lyrics about optimism and struggle over a laid-back, summer-y beat.
“Life is so hard/Working towards a better me/Even if I run till my lungs tear apart/I keep getting farther/I wish you eternal sunshine,” the group asserts on the song’s chorus.
In 2016, Epik High made history as the first major Korean act to ever play Coachella. Sleepless in__________ marks the group’s first independent release after parting ways with juggernaut Korean music company YG Entertainment last October.
