Last night, over mojitos and filet mignon at New York’s Gin Lounge, Epic Records President Charlie Walk and David Ehrlich, Esq. celebrated the six no. 1 singles of pop and hip-hop producer Nate “DanjaHandz” Hills.
Hills, who is poised to be a top honoree at tonight’s SESAC awards, counts hits in the past year from Nelly Furtado (“Promiscuous,” and “Say it Right”), Justin Timberlake (“Sexy Back,” “My Love,” “What Goes Around”) and Timbaland (“Give It to Me” featuring Justin Timberlake and Nelly Furtado).
“He’s our generation’s Quincy Jones,” said Walk.
Among Hills’ dinner guests were Capitol Chairman and CEO Jason Flom, EMI Music Publishing EVP Big Jon Platt, WMG/Atlantic and Warner/Chappell Music’s Urban A&R SVP Chris Hicks, Hot 97’s Miss Info, VP of event marketing and public relations for Moet/Hennessy USA Kai Rosenthal and Atlantic Records CEO Craig Kallman.
SESAC will be hosting its annual SESAC New York Music Awards tonight to honor their top writers in the pop, rock and urban genres.
