In his first public appearance since May 30, when a drone injured his hand during a concert in Tijuana, Enrique Iglesias performed for U.S. troops at Fort Sill in Lawton, Oklahoma yesterday.
Iglesias played for over 15,000 troops and their family members. Although his hand was not fully healed, he sang with a special brace and bandage.
Per a message tweeted out by Iglesias the day before, the show was free to all Air Force Reserve troops, family and friends of the community.

Iglesias made global headlines after his concert injury a month ago, when he reached up to hold a camera-bearing drone to give the audience a “point-of-view” shot of his perspective from the stage, a stunt he’d done every night of the tour. One of the drone’s propellers sliced into the middle finger of his right hand, fracturing it and cutting off a flap of skin.
Despite the obvious severity of the accident—as seen in backstage video—Iglesias kept performing with a makeshift bandage, but then had to be flown to Los Angeles for surgery.
Iglesias’ tour will resume as scheduled on July 3, when he plays the first of three consecutive nights at Mexico City’s Auditorio Nacional.
