Rental car company Avis has signed up eMusic as its exclusive music partner, providing free downloads to its customers. Avis customers will get five free tracks from eMusic for renting a car for up to four days, and 10 tracks for renting a car for more than five days.
Customers who reserve a car also get the eMusic free Daily Download. Customers must enroll for the downloads on Avis’ site at avis.com/emusic.
Avis and eMusic will offer exclusive playlists for holiday weekends, destinations and other themes. Recent playlists include “Country Roads,” with music from Taylor Swift and Patsy Cline.
Avis customers also can sign up for a free trial to eMusic. The digital company’s songs are available in the MP3 format and can be played on iPods and other portable music players.
Avis chose eMusic based partly on its customer base, which tends to be slightly older than that of other music download sites.
“eMusic is looking forward to helping Avis customers create the ideal soundtrack for their next business or pleasure trip,” eMusic chief marketing officer Kip Morgan said in a statement announcing the partnership.
“Both Avis and eMusic focus on adventurous adult customers, and eMusic offers them the chance to discover more than three million tracks of expertly curated independent rock, jazz, classical, electronic and world music,” he added.
