EMI Music U.K. senior VP Mark Collen has unveiled the executive structure for his newly-named Angel Music Group. Collen was appointed on May 1 to oversee the new division, which sits alongside the Capitol and Virgin label groups.
London-based Angel Music Group comprises the three distinct labels: Innocent (pop), EMI Classics U.K. (classics/crossover classics) and the new imprint Angel (adult contemporary/MOR/mainstream).
The Innocent imprint will be led by Innocent A&R director Jamie Nelson. Joe Kentish continues as Innocent A&R manager. The label group is looking to recruit a senior A&R executive for the Angel and EMI Classics U.K. labels.
Meanwhile, Mike McNally becomes director, international repertoire and special projects. In his new role, McNally identifies singles deals, special projects and opportunities from other EMI territories for the Angel label. Until now, McNally was A&R director, Liberty.
The three repertoire sources will be supported by one central marketing team, helmed by Angel Music Group GM Sara Freeman. Freeman, who was Innocent label manager, is charged with overseeing marketing, creative and promotion across the label group. All appointees report to Collen.
Meanwhile, David Quirk, formerly marketing manager, Innocent, becomes marketing director of Angel Music Group, reporting to Freeman. Quirk oversees the implementation of marketing strategy for all Angel, Innocent and crossover classical artists.
