Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” easily maintains its grip on Billboard’s Hot 100 for a fourth-straight week, leading thanks to a heavy boost in airplay. Additionally, the track — which comes from Eminem’s Shady/Interscope “8 Mile” soundtrack, the No. 2 album on The Billboard 200 — continues to make gains in urban markets, jumping 10-7 on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks tally.
Behind Eminem on the Hot 100 at No. 2 is Missy “Misdemeanor” Elliott’s “Work It.” The track continues to rule the urban field, holding the No. 1 spot on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart for a second-straight week, and the same on Billboard’s Hot Rap Tracks for a fifth week in a row. As previously reported, Elliott’s latest album, “Under Construction” (The Gold Mind/Elektra), had a smashing debut, arriving at No. 3 on The Billboard 200.
No Doubt’s “Underneath It All” holds at No. 3 on the Hot 100, and LL Cool J’s “Luv U Better” continues its stay at No. 4. Santana’s “The Game of Love” featuring Michelle Branch moves up two rungs this week to a new peak position at No. 5.
Nelly scores his third top-15 single from his Fo’ Reel/Universal album “Nellyville,” as “Air Force Ones” featuring Kyjuan, Ali & Murphy Lee soars 23-12 on the Hot 100. Previously both “Dilemma” featuring Kelly Rowland and “Hot in Herre” reached the chart’s pole position. On the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks count, “Air Force Ones” leaps 11-8.
The top debut on the Hot 100 is Aaliyah’s posthumous single “Miss You,” which arrives at No. 55. The cut is from the forthcoming album “I Care 4 U,” due Dec. 10 via Blackground. Other new entries on the chart are Eve’s “Satisfaction” (No. 62), B2K & P. Diddy’s “Bump, Bump, Bump” (No. 67), 50 Cent’s “Wanksta” (No. 68), Kenny Chesney’s “A Lot of Things Different” (No. 74), Chevelle’s “The Red” (No. 79), and Kid Rock’s “Picture” (No. 91), of which two versions are being played by U.S. radio outlets — one with Sheryl Crow and another with Allison Moorer.
The Hot 100’s fastest-growing track at retail is Busta Rhymes’ “Make It Clap” featuring Spliff Starr, which scoots 91-88 on the tally. Madonna’s “Die Another Die” continues to be the nation’s favorite in stores, as it tops Billboard’s Hot 100 Single Sales chart for a fourth week. Elsewhere on the Hot 100, Christina Aguilera’s “Beautiful” flies 62-39, and Pink’s “Family Portrait” continues to gain nicely, up 53-40 this week.
Rascal Flatts’ “These Days” takes the reins of Billboard’s Hot Country Singles & Tracks roundup, replacing Keith Urban’s “Somebody Like You,” which had a six-week run at No. 1. This is the first chart-topper for Rascal Flatts; the group came close in July 2000 with “Daylight,” which peaked at No. 3 on the tally.
3 Doors Down, which scored a top-10 debut with its Universal album “Away from the Sun,” is No. 1 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Tracks tally with “When I’m Gone.” The track knocks Nirvana’s “You Know You’re Right” from the top of after a four-week reign. On the Modern Rock Tracks chart, the Foo Fighters’ “All My Life” leads for a second-straight week.
