EMI Music has struck a content deal with Vodafone which, from today (July 19), makes 200,000 full tracks available to the international wireless carrier’s 3G subscribers in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Through the pact, users of the dedicated Vodafone Live multimedia portal will have direct access to EMI’s entire digital music catalog of realtones, ringback tones and full-track downloads.
Titles from such artists as Coldplay, Gorillaz, Norah Jones, KT Tunstall, Keith Urban and Robbie Williams will feature.
“Music is becoming a central part of the mobile phone experience for millions of people, and Vodafone is playing a key role in developing the market,” comments Doug Lucas, VP of digital development and distribution for EMI Music in U.K. & Continental Europe.
