EMI Music is strengthening its London-based global marketing division by promoting two executives to newly created senior positions.
Giampietro Paravella is the new VP, global marketing in charge of the Capitol Music repertoire, while Gavin Shackell is the new VP, global marketing for Virgin Music.
Both will be based in London and report to EMI’s senior VP, global marketing, Matthieu Lauriot-Prevost.
“These well-deserved promotions for Pietro and Gavin ensure that EMI’s central global marketing function will provide a stronger and better service to our record labels and national companies, whether we’re marketing a superstar release or working to break new artists,” said Lauriot-Prevost.
Paravella was general manager of Virgin Music Italy since 2002, based in Milan. Shackell was previously global marketing director for Virgin Music’s repertoire. He was already based in London and reporting to Lauriot-Prevost.
Mark Poston, director, global marketing for Capitol Music, now reports to Paravella.
