EMI Music Publishing has inked long-term worldwide co-publishing deals with the members of Revelation Theory and the Cab.
The new album from Rev Theory, “Light It Up” (Van Howes/Interscope) is due out in the U.S. June 10. EMI writers Brian Howes (Hinder, Puddle of Mudd) and Josh Abraham (Velvet Revolver, Staind) produced the album.
The track “Light It Up” was used recently as an official theme song by World Wrestling Entertainment’s “Wrestlemania 24.”
Rev Theory (Dave Agoglia, Julien Jorgensen, Rich Luzzi and Matty McCloskey) released its debut album, “Truth Is Currency,” in 2005. The band toured with Evanescence, Buckcherry, Hinder and Papa Roach. They will launch their own
tour later this year to support release of the new album.
The Cab’s album, “Whisper War” (Decaydance/Fueled By Ramen), produced by Matt Squire (Boys Like Girls, Panic! At The Disco) just debuted at No. 1 on the May 15 Billboard Top Heatseekers chart.
The band (Alex DeLeon, Cash Colligan, Alex Johnson, Alex Marshall and Ian Crawford) has built a strong following at local Las Vegas shows and toured with Fall Out Boy, Cobra Starship and Metro Station.
“They’re very different kind of bands, but both have a unique ability to connect with fans through the music they write,” says Dan McCarroll, EMI Music Publishing executive VP of East Coast creative. “That’s why everybody was so keen to win these deals. We’re really pleased that they’ve signed with EMI Music Publishing and are looking forward to working with them for a long time to come.”
