EMI Music Publishing Spain’s new managing director from Nov. 1 will be Santiago Menéndez-Pidal.
He replaces Borja Aguirreche, who is no longer with the company. Menéndez-Pidal had been managing director at publisher Clipper’s Madrid, where he worked with Amaral, Andy & Lucas, Vicente Amigo and Carlos Jean, among others.
Before that, he was creative manager at Warner/Chappell Music Spain from 1997-2003. Menéndez-Pidal started his career at BMG Music in 1992.
“Santiago is a fantastic music executive who understands artists as well as the commercial opportunities that a changing market place give us,” says Peter Ende, president and CEO Continental Europe, EMI Music Publishing, to whom Menéndez-Pidal will report.
