Mark Piibe has been upped to global head of digital business development for EMI Music. He will continue to work from the New York office and will report to Douglas Merrill, president of digital business for the company.
Most recently, Piibe was senior VP of business affairs for EMI Music North America, a role he’s filled since December. In his new role, his main focus will be to lead the digital business development teams in each region.
Prior to EMI, Piibe worked with a number of digital music start-ups including MusicGremlin and the original Napster. Before Napster, Mark was an attorney with Arnold & Porter in New York and Kugler Kandestin in Montréal.
