Global One, a worldwide music project featuring acts from five continents on one album, has signed a worldwide deal with EMI Music Publishing. The deal was announced at the Popkomm music conference and entertainment business trade fair in Berlin.
The album is due for a simultaneous global release in Feb. 2009 on various labels and will include international artists who have a strong domestic following, including Wei Wei from China, Ruth Sahayana from Indonesia, Ozgun from Turkey and Blendz from Japan. It will be produced by Rob Hoffman, who has worked with Christina Aguilera, and Swedish producers RamPac.
“We have deals with many different labels and artists in territories all around the world, but we needed one common global partner who could give essential support in each of these territories,” said chief operating officer Charlie Dilks in a statement.
Global One, which has offices in London, Stockholm and Warsaw, has also made a deal with MySpace as a key promotional partner.
