EMI Music U.K. and Ireland has appointed Andria Vidler as president. She is currently chief marketing officer at Bauer Media in the U.K., which operates 53 consumer magazines, 42 radio stations and TV channels including 4Music through its joint venture with Channel 4.
Vidler, who is a previous managing director of Capital Radio and Magic 105.4, will take up her EMI role in the summer. She will lead all of EMI Music’s operations in the U.K. and Ireland and report to David Kassler, EMI Music’s president, Europe.
“Andria has managed and transformed some of the U.K.’s most influential media brands,” said Kassler in a statement. “With her excellent management and consumer marketing skills, I believe she will be a great asset to EMI and to our artists.”
Vidler added: “This is an incredibly exciting time to be joining EMI which represents such a broad and talented roster of artists and which is leading the industry in driving change. I am looking forward to being part of the great U.K. team that is shaping that future.”
The job title of president is newly created and Vidler will be taking on the same duties as Tony Wadsworth, former chairman and CEO. EMI reorganized management structure following his departure in January 2008.
