
For Elton John, lip-syncing is one of the highest offenses a touring musician can carry out. His famous feud with Madonna, which ended up being a lot of name-calling on his part, was all about lip-syncing. In his latest interview with Rolling Stone, Elton John has a few more words to say on the matter.
Commenting on his feud with Madonna several years after the fact, John says, “I say what I feel. I probably went too far with Madonna, and I got very personal and I wrote her — she was very gracious.”

John, who has never really been one to keep his thoughts to himself, decided to shift his focus to Janet Jackson. “You know, f—ing music magazines writing a review of Janet Jackson saying, ‘This is the greatest show — four and a half stars,’” he tells RS. “It’s f—ing lip-synced! Hello! That’s not a show! I’d rather go and see a drag queen. F— off.”
