While Ellie Goulding is enjoying another radio hit with her Calvin Harris collaboration “I Need Your Love,” the U.K. starlet is promoting “Halcyon Days,” the re-release of her 2012 “Halcyon” album, with new single “Burn,” which received an empowering new music video on Sunday (July 7).
The “Lights” singer fills her latest visual with, er, lights, as giant globes illuminate the empty field adjacent to the runway in which Goulding croons her latest pop ballad. As the sun sets, Goulding recruits more willing participants in her makeshift rave, which officially kicks off when the final chorus reaches its climax and the lights blast into view.
Less than a year after “Halcyon’s” release, Goulding will repackage her sophomore album with seven new tracks (including “Burn”) as “Halcyon Days” on Aug. 26. The reloaded album will also include collaborations with Madeon on the song “Stay Awake,” DJ Fresh on “Flashlight” and BURNS on “Midas Touch.”
“I Need Your Love,” featured on Harris’ “18 Months” album and as a bonus track on “Halcyon,” climbed to No. 23 on last week’s Hot 100 chart. Meanwhile, Goulding is out on the road opening for Bruno Mars, with her next stop on the ‘Moonshine Jungle’ trek coming tonight in Quebec City.
Goulding has also released a Vine-centric fan video for “Burn” — check it out below:
