After teasing a few stills for their “First Time” video, Kygo and Ellie Goulding finally dropped the visual on Monday (May 22).
The Mathew Cullen-directed video follows Goulding as she reminisces on the past. It opens with the singer sitting on a windowsill in an all-black dress as she looks around a room that’s dark and dusty, with covered furniture and what looks like a crumbled statue of a person.
After having flashbacks of brighter, more vibrant memories of being younger, the house comes back to life and Kygo makes an appearance, as he rises from the ashes of the house. From the story to the effects, it’s definitely an experience.
Earlier this month, “First Time” debuted in the top 10 of Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart. Check out the “First Time” visual below.
