In 2014, Eekkoo & Casper Whirlin released “Elysium,” a collaboration with Sailor & I. The instrumental trundled forward with calm power, but the lyrics suggested a world of regret: “There were things I said I can’t relate to now/ Things I could have done that would have made you proud.”

On Friday, Eekkoo and Sailor & I are back with a new project titled LETTERS. Both songs on the release are impressively assembled. The foundation of “Letters (Capital)” is a frenzied synthesizer that gurgles through almost the entire track. It’s joined first by a piano, then a guitar, and eventually a crisp beat. The result is smooth and pleasant, but don’t be fooled — you’re still in a world of a uncertainty: “Lying here awake, hear your heart beat like a drum/ Feel less than good, wonder if you feel the same?”
“When I first worked with Sailor & I, he was my guest,” Eekkoo told Billboard via email. “He was the feature I was looking for [on] that specific project: hard hitting, electronic, heavy. This time it’s different — we wanted to focus on his own particular sound spectrum, something a bit lighter, colourful and lyrical.”
