Kathleen Edwards has confirmed dates for a North American tour in support of her Zoe/Rounder sophomore album, “Back to Me.” The trek will kick off May 6 in Portland, Maine, with 21 shows scheduled into mid-June. Additional Midwest and West Coast dates are expected.
Fellow singer/songwriter Mary Gauthier will support from the tour’s opening through a May 18 show in Chicago, except for a May 15 stop in Nashville that will be opened by Lowen & Navarro.
In addition, Edwards will also head to Austin, Texas, on June 20 to tape an episode of the PBS performance series “Austin City Limits” that will air in the fall.
Edwards is finishing up a European tour that plays Birmingham, England, tonight (April 20). Despite the new North American dates, the Canadian artist won’t wait long to cross the Atlantic again, as she’s to perform at the end of June at England’s annual Glastonbury Festival.
The follow-up to 2003’s acclaimed “Failer,” Edwards’ “Back to Me” opened last month at No. 6 on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart.
