Eddie Vedder led Chicago Cubs fans in a rendition of “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” at Wrigley Field for Game 5 of the World Series.
The Pearl Jam frontman got things going with a rousing speech: “Look at this, look at you. Wrigley Field is full, it’s Oct. 30 and there’s baseball at Wrigley Field for the first time in history.”
Vedder’s performance during the seventh-inning stretch follows Bill Murray’s Game 3 rendition. Murray, an avowed Cubs fan, was spotted in the crowd Sunday singing along with the masses.
Vedder proved to be a good luck charm for the home team. The Cubs won the game in a 3-2 nailbiter. The Cleveland Indians, however, lead the best-of-seven series 3-2. Watch Vedder’s performance below.
