Insomniac Founder and CEO Pasquale Rotella promised the event brand’s biggest event, Electric Daisy Carnival, would expand to Asia in 2018, and on Wednesday (Jan. 31), EDC announces its new home in Shanghai, China.
“To bring EDC halfway around the world is a milestone for our entire Insomniac family,” Rotella is quoted in a press release. “China marks EDC’s sixth international location, and I’m excited to connect and create beautiful new moments with the country’s passionate and ever-growing dance music community.”
EDC comes to Shanghai Sunday to Monday, April 29 and 30. It brings its famous, over-the-top stages, including kineticTEMPLE, circuitGROUNDS, bassPOD and the Boombox Art Car, as well as its costumed performers and high-grade special effects. Tickets go on sale Sunday, Feb. 4, at 11 a.m. ET/ 8 a.m. PT. Lineup details are yet to be announced. Stay tuned for more.
