Ed Sheeran will be the voice of this summer. That’s the word according to the Shazam song recognition service, which has published its top 10 “Sounds of Summer” list.
Shazam’s crystal ball-gazing is based on the songs more than 450 million Shazam users are tagging.

Brits (Sheeran, Sam Smith, Clean Bandit, Secondcity) and Australians (Iggy Azalea, 5SoS) make a decent showing on the new list which is as follows:
- Ed Sheeran – “Sing.”
- Ariana Grande Feat. Iggy Azalea – “Problem.”
- Sam Smith – “Stay With Me.”
- Luke Bryan – “Play It Again.”
- Nico & Vinz – “Am I Wrong.”.
- Oliver Heldens – “Gecko.”.
- Clean Bandit – “Rather Be.”
- Secondcity – “I Wanna Feel.”
- Teeflii Feat. 2 Chainz “24 Hours.”
- 5 Seconds Of Summer – “Don’t Stop”.
The list includes newly-released singles that the Shazam Charts indicate will be the next big hits in addition to tracks that are currently moving up the national charts. The songs are ranked on various factors, including the number of Shazams its currently receiving.

Last year’s “Sounds of Summer” list rated-highly Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines”, Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky” and Passenger’s “Let Her Go,” while in 2012, Shazam correctly picked Gotye’s “Someone I Used to Know” and Maroon 5’s “Payphone” would be hot hits of summer.
In other news, Shazam has announced John Legend’s “All of Me” as the most Shazamed song for 2014 in the U.S. Rounding out the top five are Katy Perry’s “Dark Horse,” Pharrell Williams, “Happy,” Jason Derulo’s “Talk Dirty” and Lorde’s “Team”.
Shazam boasts more than 2.5 billion tags worldwide since the new year, up more than 150% since the same time last year.
