In what it describes as a first for a visual music company, Eagle Vision is to simultaneously issue a DVD release on both high definition formats and standard definition.
Eagle Vision, the visual division of independent entertainment firm Eagle Rock Entertainment, will release Pat Metheny Group’s “The Way Up Live” Oct. 2 for the United Kingdom/Europe on HD-DVD, Blu-ray DVD and standard DVD. The U.S. release date is Oct. 3.
Live concert DVD titles from Elvis Costello, Alice Cooper, Toto and Black Crowes will also roll in the Blu-ray format and, potentially, HD-DVD.
Eagle Vision says it plans to continue supporting HD-DVD and Blu-ray DVD with selected releases in the future, drawn from both existing catalog and new productions.
