In its first move under its new name of Redux Records, the company formerly known as Sheridan Square Entertainment has acquired the 200-album Spitfire Records catalog from Eagle Rock Entertainment.
The Spitfire catalog includes Zakk Wylde & Black Label Society, Twisted Sister, Alice Cooper, Ted Nugent, Yngwie Malmsteen, Dio, Testament, Sebastian Bach and The Exploited. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
The deal was revealed by Eagle Rock, which will continue to distribute and sell the Spitfire albums outside North America, according to Eagle Rock chairman/CEO Terry Shand.
“We will continue to develop all genres of music in our core audio music business, Eagle Records, home to Willy DeVille, George Thorogood & The Destroyers and John Mayall, as well as our ever-expanding Eagle Vision, Eagle Vision Classic, Eagle Eye Media and Eagle Media Productions visual products,” Mike Carden, president of operations in North America and executive VP of the company, said in a statement.
Redux Records executives acknowledged the acquisition in an email, but didn’t return calls for comment.
