Columbia/Legacy Records has finalized the track listing for the previously announced “Bootleg Series, Vol. 5 — Bob Dylan Live 1975: the Rolling Thunder Revue” album, which captures Dylan and an expanded band of collaborators during performances in Boston, Cambridge and Worcester, Mass., and Montreal in the months prior to the release of the artist’s “Desire” album.
The release will come as a two-disc set packaged with a bonus DVD featuring the songs in video format for the first time. The CDs will feature 21 songs spanning the breadth of Dylan’s mid-’70s repertoire, while the DVD will add the bonus songs “Tangled up in Blue” and “Isis” from Dylan’s “Renaldo & Clara” film, which was completed in the same period. The entire set was mixed by Michael Brauer, and the songs from the DVD were remixed in 5.1 surround sound.
The Rolling Thunder Revue featured such collaborators as poet Allen Ginsberg, Ramblin’ Jack Elliott, Joan Baez, the Byrds’ Roger McGuinn, and actress Ronee Blakley. Previous installments in the “bootleg series” have included the three-volume “Rare and Unreleased 1961-1991” and the long-awaited official release of “Live at Albert Hall,” which was actually recorded on May 17, 1966, in Manchester, England.
Dylan starts a fresh round of touring tomorrow (Oct. 4) in Seattle.
