Honky tonk musician Dwight Yoakam revealed he married his longtime fiancée Emily Joyce last month in a private ceremony prior to quarantine.
The two wed at St. Monica Catholic Church in Santa Monica, Calif. with less than ten witnesses who sat six feet apart from each other.
“At a time when there is so much uncertainty in the world, there are still happy moments. In the face of shutdowns and social-distancing requirements, love prevailed,” said a press statement from today (May 4) about the wedding.
Yoakam and Joyce kept quiet about their intimate marriage ceremony “out of respect to so many people affected by and on the front lines of this pandemic.” The 63-year-old country star started dating Joyce in 2010 and have been engaged for several years.
