Six women were discovered unattended and ill in electronic duo DVBBS‘ dressing room after the group had left the Balaton Sound Festival in Hungary, in early July. Three of the women were unconscious and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, and now, lawyers representing the women demand 100 million Hungarian forint, the equivalent of $360,000 in damages.
According to reports by Hungarian press outlet Bors, lawyers expect DVBBS to settle outside of court and for festival promoters to cover the remainder of demands. Billboard Dance has reached out for comment and will continue to update this story as it develops.
Three Women Found Unconscious in DVBBS’ Dressing Room, Duo Denies Link to Incident: Report
The women were initially invited backstage by the duo following its performance at Balaton Sound. They were discovered by cleaners hours after the festival, and DVBBS was arrested by local police at the Liszt Ferenc International Airport on unrelated marijuana paraphernalia charges. The duo has been dropped by Balaton Sound from further scheduled event appearances. DVBBS released this statement in July:
“We are shocked that some attendees of the Balaton Festival (sic) were victims of events which got them hospitalized,” the statement reads. “Police asked our cooperation for the investigation and of course we did what we could. Police confirmed there isn’t any link between us and what happened, that’s why we took off a couple of hours later to our next gig in ibiza. There is another case going on independently from this in connection with marijuana and we gladly answer all questions regarding this and help the police to solve the case. Our thoughts are with the victims and their families. Alex and Chris (DVBBS).”
