Dutch anti-cartel organization NMA yesterday (Feb. 17) raided the Delft headquarters of Mojo Concerts, which is owned by Clear Channel Entertainment (CCE). The promoter is suspected of abusing its dominant position in the Dutch market by raising ticket prices.
Mojo director Leon Ramakers has addressed similar accusations in the past by saying that ticket prices are also going up in countries where CCE does not have a dominant position, due to increasing demands from artists.
A Mojo spokesperson comments, “The NMA is welcome to look [into] our administration, as we have nothing to hide. We will give them our full cooperation and are confident in the results of this inquiry.”
The raid comes one day after Mojo staffers were told that senior booker Willem Venema would leave the company. The spokesperson says Venema’s departure is not related to the NMA raid.
