Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst directed and stars in the video for “Eat You Alive,” the first single from the group’s upcoming Flip/Interscope album. In the clip, Durst takes the art of courting to a new level, kidnapping his crush (actress Thora Birch) and spiriting her “deep into the woods,” according to Bizkit’s official Web site.
There, Durst writes, “I have prepared, in my mind, a beautiful performance area for her. I am hoping it will show her how much I want her and actually really like her. It’s just in a sick sorta way. In the meantime, her father [actor Bill Paxton] is hot on my trail and will not let me have anything to do with his sweet innocent daughter. He’s rounded up some of his backwoods boys and hound dogs to get hot on my trail.”
The video will premiere tomorrow (Aug. 13) on MTV’s “TRL.” The cut will debut this week at No. 33 on Billboard’s Modern Rock Tracks airplay chart and No. 36 on Mainstream Rock Tracks. “It is a bit aggressive, but very heartfelt in my own sick way,” Durst says of the song. “It is unlike any song on the rest of the CD, but so is every song on the CD. None of them have the same feel.”
Durst adds that he has finally selected the sequence for the upcoming record, which has sported no less than four different titles. The unnamed set will arrive Sept. 23. “I wanted to make a complete journey from beginning to destination,” he says. “It feels good. It also might take a couple listens to really understand, but those types of CDs were always my favorites anyway. These songs tend to grow on you the more you listen.”
Limp Bizkit has three European dates lined up in the coming weeks: Aug. 31 at the Terremoto Festival in Weeze, Germany, Sept. 2 in Amsterdam and a free Sept. 6 show at London’s Finsbury Park.
