Homegrown DJ Felix Jaehn was on hand to award the British singer, who went on to perform her songs “Be The One”, “New Rules” and “IDGAF”.
Veteran British boy band Take That opened the show with a performance of their 2008 track “Greatest Day,” while German/Spanish singer and songwriter Nico Santos delivered an excerpt of his song “Rooftop”.
Frank Briegmann, president & CEO Central Europe Universal Music and Deutsche Grammophon, paid tribute to Lipa. “With her creativity, Dua Lipa has demonstrated that her music is able to inspire and captivate people. Being recognized with a Bambi in an entertainment category is one of the greatest compliments any artist can receive in Germany,” he remarked.
Bambis are awarded by journalists to “recognize people who inspire audiences,” and was broadcast live on TV-station ARD.
