R&B-flavored hip-hop group Dru Hill, now a quintet, is set to release its third album, “Dru World Order,” Nov. 26 via Def Soul/IDJ Music Group. Original members Sisqo, Jazz, Woody Rock, and Nokio have added a fifth member, Scola, to round out the group’s sound.
“Dru World Order” is the first Dru Hill effort since 1998’s “Enter the Dru,” which was followed by Sisqo’s smash success as a solo artist with such hits as “Thong Song” and “Incomplete.” Featuring production by Nokio, Brian Cox, Pajam, and Warryn “Baby Dubb” Campbell, the album is preceded by first single “I Should Be…(Steps),” which is No. 55 this week on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart. A video for the cut was shot last month in Los Angeles.
“We are thrilled about the addition of Scola to Dru Hill,” the group said in a statement. “Having five voices adds a richness to our sound that takes us to a new artistic level. He has been like a brother to us and we can’t wait for the fans to see and enjoy him.”
The group plans to promote the album with a radio promo tour and a spate of television appearances. Several Dru Hill members made guest appearances on Woody Rock’s recent inspirational album “Soul Music,” released this spring by Gospo Centric.
