Drake, the hip-hop pride of Toronto, will toast the Canadian pastime of choice when he performs at the 2012 NHL All-Star Game, which will be held in Ottawa, Ontario on Sunday (Jan. 29). The rapper will be joined by New York singer-rapper Outasight and “The Voice” winner Javier Colon at the star-studded hockey event at Scotiabank Place in Ottawa.
Drake is set to perform during the second intermission, while Outasight will perform his breakout single, “Tonight is the Night,” during the player introductions. Colon and longtime Ottowa Senators anthem singer Lyndon Slewidge will handle the U.S. and Canadian national anthems, respectively.
Drake’s All-Star Game performance will come one week after the rapper crashed the Sundance Film Festival for a special performance in Park City, Utah. His sophomore album, “Take Care,” is currently at No. 4 on the Billboard 200. Drake’s hometown Toronto Maple Leafs have three players – Phil Kessel, Joffrey Lupul and Dion Phaneuf – representing their team in this year’s All-Star game.
