
If the Doobie Brothers had gotten their start today instead of four decades ago, they — like the Eagles — they might very well be considered more country than pop. Their music influenced many of today’s biggest stars in the format, who join the iconic band for the Nov. 4 release of Southbound, a collection of reinterpretations of their biggest hits.
In a video for the Arista Nashville release — an exclusive to Billboard.com — go behind the scenes at some of the sessions for the album, including commentary from Zac Brown and Blake Shelton. Southbound will also mark the first release in almost forty years to feature Doobie leads Tom Johnston, Michael McDonald and Patrick Simmons. Watch a preview of Southbound below:
