Donna Hughes will join Capitol/EMI Records Nashville as National Director of Radio Syndication starting June 15.
In her new position, Hughes’ responsibilities will include national syndication, major contests and special events and coordinating and packaging artist’s special audio/video content for radio.
Hughes’ past work includes serving as executive producer of the nationally syndicated radio program GAC Nights: Live From Nashville as well as senior producer for Premiere Radio Networks. Additionally, she has worked as a talent booker for the Jeff Foxworthy Countdown as well as talent coordinator/booker for Crook and Chase and Music City Tonight. The producer has also worked as a freelance writer and producer for AOL’s TheBoot.com, CMA Close Up, Envision Radio Networks, and People Country.
In 2006, Hughes received the CMA “Media Achievement Award,” making her the first and only syndicated radio person to earn this award thus far.
“Bringing Donna on board is a huge score for the Capitol/EMI family,” said Senior Vice President Promotion Steve Hodges in a statement. “I have admired her work in the past and am eager for her to get started in this position that has no boundaries and limitless potential. Her enthusiasm for the music and artists is tremendously infectious!”
Hughes expressed a similar excitement for her new team commenting that, “I have so much respect for Mike Dungan, Steve Hodges, and the entire Capitol/EMI team-I’m thrilled to be joining them.”
Artists signed to Capitol/EMI Records include Dierks Bentley, Luke Bryan, Alan Jackson, Lady Antebellum, Little Big Town, Darius Rucker, and Keith Urban — all of whom Hughes said she is a fan of.
