Saturday Night Live didn’t waste any time in going in on Donald Trump in this weekend’s season premiere — and Trump himself didn’t waste much time in going in on SNL. Yesterday (Oct. 4), he tweeted a critical appraisal of Taran Killam’s Trump impression in the show’s cold open.
“@scottferson: .@TaranKillam plays a way better fake @realDonaldTrump than a real @HillaryClinton plays herself @nbcsnl“

In a very Trump response, the Republican presidential frontrunner got down with Killam’s portrayal and used it as an opportunity to do some Hillary Clinton bashing. Killam’s impression never went beyond good-natured joshing on things like Trump’s hair and immigration policy, so it’s unsurprising he gave it the seal of approval.
Bill Clinton impersonation wizard Darrell Hammond appeared as a surprise guest alongside the real-life Hillary, but he chose to leave the 42nd U.S. president out of it.

And finally, Hillary tweeted her approval for Kate McKinnon’s impression:
