Donald Trump, a man who either has no sense of irony or is completely aware of the comically insane public image he fosters, announced that once again, he is running for President of the Unites States.
Trump made the reveal at a press conference today (June 16), which he entered via an escalator (umm) while Neil Young‘s “Rockin’ in the Free World” blasted. As Esquire points out, Young is a staunch environmentalist (his upcoming album blasts GMOs and targets a variety of corporations), while Trump remains unconvinced that climate change is caused by humans. The irony here is delicious.
While we watch Young’s Twitter for the inevitable backlash, let’s revisit the time Cyndi Lauper called out Trump, his wife and his propensity for fat shaming on Celebrity Apprentice. Presumably Lauper isn’t gunning for #Trump2016, but who knows!
