President Donald Trump took to Twitter on Thursday (Aug. 16) to pay respects to legendary soul singer Aretha Franklin, who passed this morning at the age of 76.
“The Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, is dead,” Trump wrote. “She was a great woman, with a wonderful gift from God, her voice. She will be missed!”
Franklin passed away Thursday morning in Detroit surrounded by family and loved ones after battling advanced pancreatic cancer.
