Peter Doherty heads a raft of newly announced acts to appear on the Virgin Media Union stage at this year’s U.K. V Festival, which takes place simultaneously in Hylands Park, Chelmsford and Weston Park, Staffordshire on Aug. 22 to 23.
British Sea Power, Phoenix, the Sunshine Underground, Mystery Jets and Howling Bells are also among the additions.
“This year’s Virgin Media Union stage offers a diverse array of acts, genuinely delivering something for everyone,” said V Festival director Bob Angus in a statement. “With both old and new faces making appearances the caliber of this year’s line up is as good as always and reflects the Festival’s commitment to offering new talent a stage to perform to a music-loving audience.”
This year, Virgin Media’s Your Mobile service — offering new updates, video
downloads and interviews — will be available to mobile users on any network.
V Festival, now in its 14th year in the U.K., is organized by promoters SJM and Metropolis with Virgin Media as headline sponsor. This year it will feature headliners Oasis and the Killers, alongside Razorlight, Lily Allen, Snow Patrol, Fatboy Slim, MGMT and Lady Gaga.
