Ellie Goulding’s next gig just might turn into a royal affair. Just days after Prince William and Kate Middleton announced they are going to be parents again, Goulding opened up about the news.
“I sent my congratulations already because I’m friends with Harry,” she told Us Weekly.”I think I may be seeing them all this week pending on how Kate is feeling.”
And Goulding just might run into the parents this weekend. She is slated to perform at the Invictus Games Closing Concert, which will take place on Sept. 14 at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London. Other performers include Foo Fighters, Kaiser Chiefs, Ryan Adams, The Vamps, Rizzle Kicks, James Blunt, Diversity and Military Wives Choirs.
However, her connection runs even deeper. Goulding is not only a pal to William’s brother, Prince Harry, but also performed at Will and Kate’s wedding in 2011. The royal couple confirmed they are expecting their second child together earlier this week. They are already the parents to 1-year-old Prince George.
“I just think it’s beautiful,” the “Lights” singer added. “They’re an incredible couple and I’m sure they’re incredible parents. I’m just very happy for them.”
