Dave Matthews Band’s first retrospective, “Best of What’s Around Volume 1,” will arrive Nov. 7 via RCA. As previously reported, the two-disc features rare live tracks selected by fans in addition to familiar hits like “Crash,” “The Space Between” and “What Would You Say?”
Among the concert selections are “Everyday”/”#36” with South African vocalist Vusi Mahlasela, “Louisiana Bayou” with guitarist Robert Randolph and an 11-minute version of “Warehouse” tagged with “Louie Louie.”
Meanwhile, DMB will return to live duty Tuesday (Oct. 17) with support slot for the Rolling Stones in Seattle and then three days later in El Paso, Texas. The group will then head to San Francisco for Neil Young’s Bridge School Benefit.
Later this month, Matthews and longtime sideman Tim Reynolds will reunite for a series of Wes Coast shows: Oct. 27 in Las Vegas as part of Vegoose by Night, Oct. 28-29 in Santa Barbara, Calif., Oct. 30 in Los Angeles (a private date for Citi/AAdvantage cardholders) and
