About a year ago, DJ Snake took his curatorial chops to the next level by launching his Premiere Classe label. It’s been a boss move, and so far, he’s catered to a wide range of tastes with all manner of genres. It seems the only thing a song has to be to get on the label is really, really good.
Today (March 15), he shows his softer side on a collaboration with Plastic Toy. “Try Me” is beautfully enchanting. Built around a contemplative piano melody, it flows gently and bounces majestically on a future bass rhythm. It’s got the feeling of an island sunset with a slight tinge of regret.
“The most interesting thing in this song for me, is the lead synth that comes in with the drop,” Plastic Toy tells Billboard Dance. “With DJ Snake, we pushed the track to a whole new level, giving it that powerful and melodic sound. Working with Snake was very inspiring. He has the ability to feel the music and what’s going to sound good.”
