If you’ve never watched the video for Higher Brothers‘ “Made in China,” you’re missing out. It’s a brilliant (and brilliantly cocky) ode to the cultural history and modern ubiquity of Chinese culture and manufacturing with a bangin’ beat. But could it bang a little more?
French producer DJ Snake wanted to know, so he gave it the ol’ remix treatment. He turned up the bass and turnt up the party vibes. Now, “Made in China” has a right dubsteppy snarl to its drop. Some of the verses get switched around to amp the energy. You could mosh to this if you tried hard enough.
Hip-hop was born in New York City, Higher Brothers are “Made in China,” and DJ Snake worked this remix with his Francophone fingers. It’s truly an example of how we all shine when we work together.
