DJ is an acronym for “disc jockey,” not “dude jukebox,” so when a professional DJ is working the room, keep your requests to yourself — especially when the DJ is three-time conescutive DNC World Champion DJ Craze.
The legendary turntablist represennts Miami and recently took a sponsorship with DJ gear manufacturer Rane. When the company introduced its new Seventy Mixer, it asked Craze to create a battle routine showcasing what the Rane can do.
His response is a three-minute stunner called “Still Got It,” and being a bit of a jokester, he took time to troll all the clubbers with requests.
“The inspiration came from this vid that went viral of me in Wellington for a Do Over, giving the ‘no request’ hands to some chick,” he says. “It’s crazy how entitled people feel nowadays. People think they know what the party needs because of Spotify and other things. They think parties have to be high energy all night and if you’re playing some new shit that people might not know, they think they know what will pick the vibe up.
“What better way to address this than with an annoying chick wanting to hear Drake, as I’m playing Drake, at an all Drake night? That has happened to me before actually, and I was just amazed.”

“I always put a lot of thought into these vids, ’cause I want them to be the best representation of the turntablist culture when they come out,” he says.
